Practical AI for Retail Selling

March 13, 2026

1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Most retailers have only encountered AI as a tool for writing social posts or marketing copy. While that can be helpful, it barely scratches the surface of what AI can do inside a retail business.

This session looks at how AI is already being used to support the real work of retail, both on the sales floor and behind the scenes. Led by Andrea Hill, the focus is on practical, everyday applications that help stores operate more smoothly, respond more quickly, and keep details from falling through the cracks.

Rather than abstract examples, the session walks through how AI can support tasks retailers deal with every day. Things like organizing information, preparing customer communications, keeping track of work in progress, and helping staff answer questions with confidence.

We will cover:

  1. How AI can support sales teams at the counter with faster access to accurate information.
  2. Using AI to prepare timely, clear customer follow-ups after visits, repairs, and special orders.
  3. Ways AI can help organize work, notes, and tasks so fewer things get missed.
  4. Backoffice uses such as summarizing vendor information, supporting inventory decisions, and clarifying procedures.
  5. How AI can assist with training, documentation, and internal communication without adding complexity.
  6. Where AI fits today and where it does not, so expectations stay realistic.

This session is designed for retailers who want to understand how AI can actually make their days easier. Attendees will leave with concrete examples they can adapt to their own stores, a clearer sense of where AI provides real value, and a broader understanding of how AI fits into modern retail operations beyond marketing.
